Celebrating the Spring Festival Together with Chinese Culture

With only a few days left until Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, many cities are encouraging residents to stay put during the holiday, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Langyuan Park, a creative cultural landmark in Shijingshan District, Beijing, has launched a series of New Year celebrations to mark the arrival of the Year of the Tiger.

Drawing on traditional folk customs, digital technology, contemporary art, and elements of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Langyuan Park hosted a leisurely exploration of Beijing’s history and culture.

Visitors can try on a variety of Peking Opera masks in front of traditional Beijing courtyards, admire festive lanterns, and pose for photos in Hanfu.

To highlight the Year of the Tiger, the park has installed tiger sculptures throughout the grounds, inviting visitors to pose for memorable photos with family and friends.

Langyuan Park Library will also screen short films about the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, adding a sporty touch to this year’s festive atmosphere.
