The “Double Reduction” policy has been officially implemented.

On July 24, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the “Opinions on Further Reducing the Homework Burden and Off-Campus Training Burden of Students in the Compulsory Education Stage” (hereinafter referred to as the “Opinions”), which stipulate that off-campus training institutions may not organize subject‑based training during national statutory holidays, rest days, or winter and summer vacations.

At present, nine cities—including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Guangzhou—have been designated as the first batch of pilot cities. In the future, the “double reduction” initiative will be rolled out nationwide.
