The Red Brick Art Museum is situated in the northeastern corner of Beijing, far from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Architect Dong Yugan has chosen red bricks as the museum’s primary building material, creating a garden that seamlessly blends classical Chinese aesthetics with contemporary style. Within its grounds, visitors will find works by international art masters, alongside a feline family, wild ducks, and a flock of black swans—creating an atmosphere that is both serene and elegant, yet delightfully whimsical.

The Long Museum is one of the most established institutions on the West Bund Cultural and Artistic Corridor. Dune Art Museum, Beidaihe, Hebei Province

The Dune Art Museum is the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art’s second exhibition space, located outside its main venue in 798. Its name reflects both the building’s form and its setting: a museum nestled beneath a naturally formed sand dune. Opened to the public in 2018, it sits within the Anaya community in Beidaihe, an area also home to the renowned “Lonely Library” and a seaside chapel. Facing the Bohai Sea, the museum comprises several interconnected exhibition spaces that evoke the shape of caves. From the outside, the building blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Entering from the exterior and wandering through its interior, one feels as though stepping back into the “secret castle” of childhood.
