Measuring the Hero City with Every Step

After weathering countless challenges, this year’s Wuhan Marathon has returned, drawing a large contingent of elite runners from home and abroad. On race day, the city once again came alive with the thrilling spectacle of top athletes vying for glory along the banks of the Yangtze.

After more than two hours of fierce competition, Chinese runners swept the top three spots in the full-marathon event at the 2023 Wuhan Marathon. China’s He Jie claimed victory in the full-marathon, clocking a time of 2:12:35.

In the women’s full-distance event, Lucy Karimi of Kenya crossed the finish line first, claiming the title with a time of 2:27:47. Tinbit Gidey Weldegebriel of Ethiopia took second place in 2:34:08, while China’s Yang Hua secured third place with a time of 2:37:19.

In the women’s half-marathon, Wang Qiaoxia claimed victory with a time of 1:20:17, while Zhang Ni finished second in 1:21:25. Le Qinghua took third place in 1:27:53.

As for my experience at the 2023 Wuhan Marathon, it has already become a memory.

But the story between Hanma and you is far from over;
